At the very top level of racing every millimetre of advantage you can gain by the bottom of the hill can turn into metres by the time you cross the line and the 2024 Speedco EVOs take this philosophy and turn it into reality with this series of frames.
From more aerodynamic tubing, to a beefy downtube that connects directly past the bottom bracket to the chainstays, this completely revised line up of pro frames from Speedco will easily surpass the popularity of the previous model.
The design of that downtube/BB interface is laboratory proven to stiffen the whole bottom end of the frame. It is a critical area of a frame and one in which has to withstand some of the highest torsional forces seen in the bike racing world. Nothing comes close to the "hit" that a BMX race bike takes to its drivetrain in any cycling disciple, courtesy of a standing start and light (compared to the track world) gearing that BMX racers run. Ad in long(ish) cranks and a BMX gate start places tremendous forces around the bottom bracket section of the frame.
Of course, being a Speedco also means that the overall aesthetic of the frame is an absolute killer. This brand continues the tradition of coming out with the most desirable looking carbon race frames and the Evo does not disappoint in any way. Slick, up to date colours and a beautiful finish means that this range will be a hot commodity.
Another obvious change from the Velox series of frames is the 100% disc commitment with a flat mount design attaching the brake caliper to the inner axle block and internally routing of the brake hose through the inside chainstay. It slides with the wheel and fastens to the frame with a 4mm screw on the outside of the chainstay.
Speedco are entering new territory hear with two now frame sizes with this 22.5 inch TT Pro XXXL and an even bigger 23 inch Pro XXXXL. We've definitely seen a transition to riders building these longer frames and it's awesome to see Speedco getting into the mix with these two big dawgs
Axle compatibility is 10mm, 15mm or 20mm and rotor compatibility is 140mm.
