Even if you run your seat completely slammed on your race bike, you still need a seat post and here at LUXBMX we stock Australia's largest range of BMX race seat posts. Not only the super short ones you use when you race, we have the extender posts that are used for warm up and cool down. Or is it warm down? We aren't sure either to be honest.
What we do know is that you better check the frame that the post you're about to throw in the cart is the right sized post, diameter wise. Conveniently BMX racing frames don't have a standard when it comes to seat tube sizing meaning that depending on the frame, the seat post needs to be a 22.2mm, 25.4mm or 27.2mm. Generally the smaller the frame, the smaller the post. But there isn't a hard and fast rule at which point where frame manufacturers decide to change these specs.
And just to throw you a curve ball, brands like Stay Strong run an "over-sized" 31.6mm, and Chase run a "aero" post in their aftermarket frames.
Don't worry though, the crew here have the knowledge to sort you out with the right BMX race seat post if you aren't 100% sure you're grabbing the right one. Just shoot us a message and we'll get you ready to race.
