There's not a lot of choice of hubs at the premium end of the BMX racing options, but the Pride Racing Control hubs certainly qualify. Sold in a pair with in a 10mm bolt up configuration, these are the junior/expert 28 hole versions.
Construction wise, they are CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminium, providing remarkable precision and finish and feature high flanges for increased stiffness. Plus they'll stay fresh looking for a long while.
Engagement wise, the driver is made from 7075-T6 aluminium and integrates the 6/60 system with 6 micro-toothed pawls that engage 3 at a time, delivering 180 points of engagement. Whilst not instant engagement, they are more than enough for all but the very picky racer.
These hubs are also disc brake ready, utilising a centrelock method of attachment. Build them up for a V-brake frame now knowing that you have to option to add a disc rotor if you want to convert braking systems.
Not the cheapest hubs, but exceptional value when looking to build a set of junior race wheels with alloy rims. Especially when you factor in the versatility of being able to convert to a disc brake system down the track. Or throw them inside a carbon set of rims for a podium ready set of race wheels.
