Description

The Raven Phantom XL is built for beginner riders who want strength, control and reliability. It runs a full chromoly frame with a larger 21" top tube and a tapered chromoly fork, so it can handle beginner street sessions and beginner park riding.

Sealed bearing hubs and a sealed MID bottom bracket keep it smooth and low maintenance, while double wall alloy rims, a 3-piece chromoly crankset and alloy brakes give you something to lean on. It rolls on 20 x 2.4" Raven tyres and is ready to ride straight out of the box.

Features
  • Full chromoly frame and fork. The 21" chromoly frame and tapered chromoly fork give a beginner something strong to learn street and park on.
  • Sealed bearings where it counts. Raven alloy 14mm sealed bearing hubs and a sealed MID bottom bracket keep the bike rolling smoothly with less maintenance.
  • Alloy brakes front and rear. An alloy calliper up front and an alloy U brake out back, with alloy levers and Jagwire slick cables for a clean pull.
  • 3-piece chromoly cranks. 165mm 3-piece Cro-Mo cranks on a 19mm spindle put the strength where the bike takes the most abuse.
  • Double wall rims, 2.4" tyres. 36H double wall alloy rims laced with 14g spokes and wrapped in Raven 20 x 2.4" tyres for plenty of grip.

Assembly information

Your bike ships mostly assembled in the box. Finishing it takes most people 10 to 20 minutes with basic tools, and the video above walks through every step.

  • Fit the handlebars and line them up with the front wheel
  • Fit the front wheel, pedals and seat post
  • Check the brakes and tyre pressure before the first ride

Tools: Allen key set and a 15mm, 17mm or 19mm spanner for the pedals and axle nuts (bikes can vary between these three sizes). A socket is needed if installing pegs.

Top tube is measured from the centre of the seat tube to the centre of the head tube, so it is not the same as the length of the tube you can see.

  • A 20 inch bike is the standard adult BMX and most riders end up there, so do not size a tall child down to a smaller wheel.
  • 22, 24 and 26 inch bikes are adult bikes with a bigger wheel, not bigger frames for taller riders.
  • Size up for stability through trails and transitions. Size down if you want the bike quick and twitchy for spins and grinds.
  • Top tube is fixed, but stem length, fork offset and bar position all shift how roomy the bike feels once you are on it.
