Radio Bikes didn't hold back when they brought out their very first carbon BMX race frame and completely crushed it with the Solar range. Designed and developed in Cologne, Germany, the Solar frame is manufactured from Torayca carbon and is a 100% one piece monocoque construction producing one of the lightest and stiffest BMX race frames on the market. Most race frames on the market use a blended two, or three, piece construction method to save on costs, but not Radio. This company has stepped up and produced what we think is one of the finest carbon race frames available.
Touches like internal cable routing and a Euro bottom bracket add to the value of this frame when analysing performance at this end of the market. The majority of carbon frame manufactures choose the easier route when it comes to the bottom bracket, opting for a BB86 style. A Euro BB is more complex to incorporate in the manufacturing process, though it arguably produces the stiffest result in an area where it's required most, the start of the powertrain.
The Radio Solar Pro XL frame would form the basis for one of the best performing custom race bikes you could build.
