The Pride Vortex 24 V2 Crankset has arrived onto the BMX race scene after months of development and testing. Built for the demanding European racing enviroment, the arms of the crank are manufactured from aluminium 7075-T6, a material you will find used in the in aeronautical industry. Known for the stiffness that the 7075 can offer, this grade of aluminium is of a higher quality than the more commonly used 6061-T6.
Pride utilises a waffle design on the internal side of the crank, which means that they can reduce weight without having any impact on resistance stresses. The spider of the crank is manufactured with CNC machining, again creating strength and stiffness in a vital area or the drivetrain. The axle is a 24mm diameter design manufactured from tried and tested chromoly, reducing the chances of failure at this point. An added advantage is that with a 24mm axle, bottom bracket compatability won't be an issue on most BMX race frames. The chain line is optimised and gives a 44mm chain line.
