This upgraded wheelset features a Pro level rear cassette hub that can take the power of a pro rider and keep you out front of the pack! The XLC-2 Wheels feature a 3 pawls system with 5 fin engagement, locking into a 120 ratchet cutter ring, giving you that extra torque needed for full power gate starts!
The XLC-2 also uses Excess's exclusive alloy rims that feature 2 different rim profiles front and rear, echo with a low profile, Double walled 6061 T6 Alloy rim with Optimized Internal Geometry for light weight and optional strength.
These are a versatile wheelset that offers you the option to convert the rear hub to accept a disc brake, via an optional Disc Center Lock adapter (sold separately). This gives you the best of both worlds. The wheels are set up out of the box for V Brakes, but you can upgrade to disc at anytime without getting a new rear hub! This is groundbreaking in the world of BMX racing. Also offered is a front hub Axle Conversion - The wheels are delivered with a 3/8 (10mm) front axle set up, but with the upgrade to the optional front 20mm hub axle, you can also convert the front hub to be used with 20mm dropout forks!
