About Kio Hayakawa: Kio is the unparalleled talent revolutionising the BMX Flatland scene with his groundbreaking, innovative riding style. Hailing from Nagaoka City, Japan, Kio's journey into BMX began when he stumbled upon a mesmerising dirt jumping video while shopping for a new bike with his father. Captivated by the allure of BMX, Kio implored his Dad to purchase him one, forsaking the ordinary in favour of a thrilling new endeavour. However, a challenge awaited Kio upon bringing his BMX home - the lack of suitable dirt jumps. Fortunately, fate intervened and introduced Kio to the captivating world of BMX Flatland. Describing it as a "competition held in an empty place," Kio was immediately captivated by this discipline and swiftly redirected his focus, swapping his park bike for a specialised flatland steed.
