The Avian Versus Pro fork is the perfect companion for Speedco range of Evo Junior, Expert and Expert XL range of frames, with matching colours for every Youth frame. Avian is the component company of Speedco and have released a Pro fork with a straight 1-1/8th steerer, and a 10mm dropout, to give the reassurance of extra strength for the young shredders sending the big doubles and triples out there.
Previous iterations of these forks came with a 1 inch steerer, meaning that a step-down headset was required to run them in a 1-1/8th frame. Something that we were never a fan of as the came with a weight limit.
Now we're happy to see a beefier steerer so that there's no doubt that these new forks are up to the task of the 9 and 10 year olds out there boosting ever increasing bigger jumps. Sure the trade off is a little heavier fork, but you can't but a price on peace of mind, and they are still lighter than the equivalent BOX forks.
What gives these forks extra strength is a blended composite construction utilising Toray carbon in the fork legs for extra stiffness, which also keeps the weight down. Aluminium used as the steerer tube material to add confidence in strength of this vital part.
The Stealth Black version is perfect for use with any frame out there with its low key looks.
